Life at Paragon: Development

Here at Paragon Creative, we are often working on lots of projects all at once so it’s really important that our internal teams work together to make sure everything is completed to an exceptional standard and delivered on time. As well as our talented production teams, we also have several departments that are key in delivering our world class projects. One of these teams manage the sales, marketing and development of each project.

We spoke to the Sales and Marketing Director about her experience in the team;

Can you tell us a bit about how this department has grown over the years?

Our energetic sales and marketing team has developed considerably over recent years in response to increasing market and project opportunities. Our team now includes specialists in the theme park, zoos, heritage and commercial sectors and cakes.

Can you tell us about the challenges that the development team face?

Our largest challenge as a department is picking the projects we, as a creative company, want to work on – a lovely position to be in!

Paragon Creative has such a strong industry reputation that we often find ourselves in the fortunate position of having multiple exciting projects launching at the same time, so we need to prioritise to ensure we maintain our high standards of service and build quality.

What are most important elements to successfully coordinating production and a client’s project?

From day one, the sales teams key task is to manage both our client’s expectations and to also ensure our production teams fully appreciate our clients requirements.

We make sure our teams fully understand issued briefs and drawings from the client, which then results in accurate costings and programmes being issued, we are always happy to supply samples and examples of finishes if required to ensure absolute transparency about our proposals. By maintaining effective and open dialogue with our clients and our production teams we ensure that everybody involved in the project understands both the parameters and delivery expectations of the project. No surprises! (Except good ones!).

What do you think are the most important aspects of your role?

One of the most important aspects of my role on a day to day basis is communication - ensuring the various teams at Paragon understand and buy into our future development plans and project choices, communicating externally - working with marketing to ensure we are effectively spreading the word about the amazing work our teams produce and communicating with the sales team – making sure we are all on track and have happy clients.

Ultimately though, the most important aspect of my role is to find and win more exciting new projects for Paragons teams to build. Winning future work is all based upon the quality and service we provided on our last project so I always have a vested interest in ensuring the projects we have won go above and beyond our client’s requests when installed.

We’ll be focusing on one department each month, giving readers an overview of life at Paragon Creative!
